I want the best for Buddy so I have incorporated Darwins raw food into his diet. Darwins actually delivers to my house!
As dog food as in kibble, he gets Natures Variety still. But it is shown that replacing one meal a day from kibble to raw increases your pets health.
Raw meat can help avoid compromising nutritional elements that can be lost when kibble is cooked.
Raw food is excellent for cats because it has a higher moisture content then kibble. Studies have shown that food with higher water content may help with the long term health of cats kidneys and urinary tract.
Our pets are worth it! Dont be cheap when it comes to their food,their health depends on it!

Bored dogs in Scottsdale

As a Scottsdale and Arcadia petsitter, I see many dogs that destroy things in their home because they are bored.
As a dog walker in Scottsdale it is my job to tire the dogs out, which works perfect. But for the days I dont walk the dogs, the following article gives great tips.
Bored dogs may have different types of behavioral patterns.
For example, some dogs will be seen barking continuously and some may be engaged always in some
digging activities.
I would not use any food besides creamy peanut butter in a toy given to puppies as they are still learning to eat and swallow properly. Treats and kibble are choking hazards and are deadly if unsupervised.
A buster cube with multiple treats may be placed in the dog’s shelter and the animal
soon understands on how to roll the buster cube to get the treats it prefers.
A Buster Cube is an ingenious toy use for simulating and activating your dog during play and feed time.
Instead of placing the food monotonously in one place, change the place of feeding suddenly.
This will help them to a greater extent to drive away the unwanted behavior patterns in their pet dogs.
Kongs are great and can be stuffed with treats or creamy texture mixtures.
Raw marrow bones are excellent as they are yummy and long lasting.
For example, some dogs may often have destructive biting characters and will be seen biting chair, cloth,
mats, and everything that can see. After ruling out the teething problem if it is a puppy, provide it with some large sized balls, mineral mixture based bone materials, etc. Such variety of materials help to reduce the boredom related activities.
Scottsdale dog walking-retractable leashes

As a Scottsdale pet sitter, I walk many dogs. The clients I that I walk that use retractable leashes are the most difficult, even though the dogs are good walkers.
I personally dont like them because the part you hold is uncomfortable and bulky. There is a huge plastic thing in between me and the dog. When I walk a dog, I like to be connected to the dog via a regular leash. The dog and I walk as one. The dogs can feel my energy through a regular leash. They cant with a retractable.
I have walked dogs that are on leash aggressive and if they are on a retractable leash with some slack, they can run around and act like idiots. It take a few seconds for me to reel them in. If a dog sees something and bolts, they can since the retractable let them pull when they want.
I heard a horror story from a guy at the dog park. He had his poodle on a retractable leash. He bent over to pick up its poop and a car drove by and the dog ran to chase the tires and got run over. Would have never happened with a regular leash.
Another Scottsdale dog owner told me about a near death experience when her dog greeted a dog on a retractable leash. The dogs got excited and danced around sniffing and then playing and the retractable leashes cord got wrapped around her dogs neck and was tightened when the dog pulled.
I’ve seen dogs tripped by other dogs retractable leash cord, Ive had skin burns from the cord getting wrapped around my ankles.
And when a dog i was pottying got approached by a “friendly dog” and the dog wasnt so friendly, It took me a few seconds to reel the dog in and I had to grab the leash part and speed the process up to avoid a fight!
And dogs dont learn any manners on a long retractable leash. They lead so they feel like they are the alpha.
The only situation I think a retractable leash is ok is in apartment complexes or homes with no fence when you are just standing outside to potty your dog. And thats the tape type retractable, not the cord. The cord ones should be banned.
